The specialty shop — celebrating its one-year anniversary on June 28 — is a social enterprise of The Other Side Village. The Other Side Village is an extensive program that provides homes, employment and support for the chronically homeless who express a sincere desire to get off the streets.

On June 28, The Other Side Donuts (760 S. Redwood Road) will celebrate its one-year anniversary from 9 am to 8 pm. The Salt Lake City business is a social enterprise of The Other Side Village.

Activities for children and families will be held throughout the day and will include a children's donut decorating content, a bounce house, hot food, buy-one-get-one free offers (BOGO), concessions, raffles, and a lookalike contest. All proceeds will go back into business operations.

The Other Side Village is a cottage home development for the city's chronically homeless that will include health facilities, social services, a grocery store, a restaurant and a tiny-home hotel. Approximately 50 of the more than 400 homes are currently built; residents are still moving in. The Village is founded on the conviction that housing alone will never solve homelessness but community will. A culture of personal growth, support, and connection is at the heart of this model.
