Editor Andy Cupp focuses his remarks on growth — both within The West View staff and on the Westside in general.
Growth – it’s an inevitability in life. And here on the Westside, we’re seeing growth in several forms.
This edition highlights several areas of growth in our community. Whether it’s the demolition of a long-standing motel to make way for mixed-use development and entertainment venues, the official opening of The Other Side Village, or the launching of new businesses catering to locals, there’s so much going on.
There’s also growth here at The West View. As you may have noticed, we’ve made a shift to more digital content, moving away from printing and mailing thousands of physical newspapers every quarter. We will continue to stock several newsstands around the community, however, so feel free to stop into a local business and pick up a copy. This change allows us to continue to grow, and we thank you – our readers and supporters – for sticking with us. That being said, you can always visit our website often to get the latest news about the Westside: westviewslc.org.
And growth sometimes also means saying goodbye. Our long-time Managing Editor Rob Ware has made the difficult decision to step away and pursue new adventures. We sincerely thank him for all the time and effort he’s given to The West View over the last several years. He’s helped the paper through many transitions, and we’re forever grateful for his support of this noble effort.
Here’s to continued growth in each of our own lives and in our community as a whole!
