If you’re looking for a place that perfectly blends sweet treats, savory dishes, and elegant ambiance, Forty Three Bakery is a must-visit. Located in the Glendale neighborhood at 733 Genesee Ave in Salt Lake City, this spot stands out as one of the most beautiful and thoughtfully curated dining experiences on the Westside.
From the moment you walk in, Forty Three Bakery captivates you with its open, airy space and subtle sophistication. It’s cozy yet refined — perfect for a casual coffee break or a romantic date night. The welcoming atmosphere sets the stage for an exceptional culinary experience.
The first thing that caught my attention was their incredible pastry selection, all crafted in-house by award-winning pastry chef Andrew Corrao. Each pastry goes through a meticulous three-day process, reflecting a true dedication to quality and flavor. I highly recommend the Cinnamon Maple Scone, which strikes the perfect balance of sweetness and spice, as well as their delicious cookies and brownies — you truly can’t go wrong.

While the pastries shine, the dinner menu is equally impressive. Forty Three Bakery’s innovative approach to farm-to-table dining is evident in every dish, with everything made from scratch using fresh, local ingredients. During my visit, I tried two of their standout pizzas: the Loaded Potato and the Classic Pepperoni. The Loaded Potato pizza, featuring creamy béchamel and crisp bacon, was a revelation — simple yet bursting with flavor. Their dough is light, airy, and perfectly textured, making it one of the best pizzas I’ve had in recent memory.
To round out the meal, I paired the pizza with a Mixed Green Caesar Salad featuring hearty spring mix greens, a rich Caesar dressing, and buttery croissant croutons — a delightful twist on a classic.
Forty Three Bakery isn’t just a bakery; it’s a full culinary experience that brings fresh, innovative, from-scratch food to the Westside. Whether you’re craving a perfectly-baked pastry, an exceptional pizza, or a warm, inviting space to unwind, this spot has it all.
They also offer a popular brunch menu that I didn’t get to try yet but from what I’ve heard, it’s absolutely to die for. Forty Three Bakery truly has something for everyone, no matter what time of day you visit.
