If you’re in downtown Salt Lake City and searching for exceptional coffee, Buzzed Coffee House is a spot you need to check out. Located at 265 State Street, Suite 113, Buzzed Coffee House has brought its Westside roots into the heart of downtown while staying true to its community-centered mission.
Buzzed Coffee began in the Rose Park area and was founded by Trina Perez. Her goal was to increase access to high-quality, delicious coffee on the Westside. What started as a way to serve the local community quickly grew into something more, as people across the city discovered and connected with the brand. After years of being a pillar in the community, Trina met Dominic Oliver at an Italian American Civic League event. Dominic, a Salt Lake City native with a deep appreciation for local coffee culture, was looking for a career change and saw Buzzed as the perfect opportunity — one with a strong business model and a genuine mission.
Dominic continued building Buzzed Coffee, recently expanding from a beloved coffee truck to a brick-and-mortar location downtown. I recently visited the new space and can confidently say it’s worth the trip. While parking can be a bit tricky due to its downtown location within the Aster Apartment complex, coffee lovers will find the experience well worth the effort.
Inside, Buzzed Coffee House offers a cozy, inviting atmosphere — perfect for reading a book, working on homework, meeting friends, or hosting a small book club. It provides a calm and welcoming escape from the busy downtown pace while also serving residents and visitors in the surrounding area.

The coffee here is outstanding, and the creative drink names add a fun, personal touch. One standout is the Mt. Olympus, a sweeter option featuring notes of caramel and white chocolate that beautifully complement the coffee. Another favorite is the Purple Haze, a blend of white chocolate and lavender. While I was initially unsure about the lavender, it turned out to be subtle and perfectly balanced, adding a unique depth of flavor. Both are must-tries.
For those who prefer classic options, Buzzed also offers Americanos, cappuccinos, drip coffee, and tea. They even serve Italian sodas and now have gelato, making this an ideal stop during the warmer months.
Buzzed Coffee House is a powerful example of a Westside business growing through community support — from farmers markets and coffee catering to a full downtown storefront. It’s inspiring to see a local brand expand while staying grounded in its mission. I’d love to see them open another brick-and-mortar location on the Westside someday.
