Art installation highlights disappearing sounds from the Great Salt Lake
“A symphony of disappearing sounds for the Great Salt Lake,” created by Olafur Eliasson in collaboration with music producer Koreless, transforms the natural soundscape of the Great Salt Lake into an immersive experience of light, sound, and reflection. Installed in Memory Grove Park, the work blends recordings of birds, water, and environmental shifts with vivid projections, inviting visitors to consider the beauty and fragility of the lake. Supported through a broader public art initiative, the installation serves as both an artistic expression and a call to action, encouraging reflection on the future of one of Utah’s most important natural resources.
